About The Position

Greenmark Waste Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technician A to perform repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. This role involves working on various components including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drive train, and steering systems. The position is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and reports directly to the Fleet Manager. Greenmark is a locally-owned solid waste and recycling collection company focused on taking care of its people, customers, and communities, aiming to build a best-in-class business with a strong emphasis on long-term values.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Be over 21 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform moderately complex welding processes such as arc welding, gas welding, aluminum welding, brazing, plastic welding, and soft soldering on a variety of materials.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Work on refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Perform safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Complete applicable Company training programs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
