About The Position

The Maintenance Technician position supports the plant by checking, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Five or more years’ experience in an industrial environment as a maintenance employee performing Preventive (planned) and Corrective (unplanned) Maintenance
  • Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Power Transmission – chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings, brakes, couplings, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Lubrication – oils, greases, storage and handling, application, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Hydraulics & Pneumatics – valves, actuators, compressors and pumps, piping and tubing, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: DC Circuits – relays, contactors, power supplies, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: AC Circuits (120V to 480V) – motors, drives, transformers, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Industrial Automation – robotics, PID, machine control, etc.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: PLCs & Networking – communication, signals, I/O, LANs, etc.
  • Ability to work in an indoor dusty, non-air-conditioned industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment that is subject to temperatures that range from 65 to 90 degrees in the general working environment and hotter in certain areas of the plant.
  • Ability to perform occasional outdoor activities in hot or adverse weather.
  • Ability to work in a twenty-four hour working environment with multiple shifts and varying schedules.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and perform duties on an elevated platform
  • Ability to kneel, bend, reach and stoop
  • Ability to read, interpret and utilize drawings and diagrams (electrical, piping, P&ID)
  • Ability to pass a Mobile Equipment test
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time for training and data entry purposes
  • Be comfortable that this position has the potential to manage and handle hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or 2+ years of vocational training preferred
  • Certifications in mechanical/industrial fields (electrician, millwright, welding, etc.) desired but not required
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) desired but not required
  • Experience with maintenance technologies such as Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasound Inspection, Oil Analysis, and Precision Alignment desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic, scheduled inspections and checks of equipment to determine whether failures or issues are present and determine how soon the corrections/adjustments may need to be made
  • Assemble and disassemble machines to make repairs, perform inspections, and replace with new items while keeping safety and production goals in mind
  • Troubleshoot equipment to identify root cause(s) and suggest appropriate follow-up actions
  • Identify failed components and determine necessary replacement parts
  • Interact directly with production and other plant teammates in a professional manner
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive work instructions, identify parts that belong to machines, and fully document work performed
  • Comply with all safety and environmental protocols relating to operations
  • Locate spare parts in the storeroom and follow stock check-out processes
  • Maintain a dedicated toolbox and shared maintenance tools and supplies in a organized manner so that materials can be accessed quickly and reliably
