About The Position

The A-Level Maintenance Technician is a multi-skilled industrial maintenance technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and utilities at our Krieger Specialty Doors facility, part of the Allegion Hollow Metal business unit. This role requires advanced technical expertise in electric motors, electrical systems, fabrication, plumbing/water installations, and preventive maintenance practices. As an A-Level Maintenance Technician, you will serve as a technical resource for the facility and support the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to improve equipment reliability, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Technical degree, vocational training, or equivalent experience in Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Industrial Mechanics, or a related field (Required)
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (Required)
  • Proven experience with electric motor maintenance, industrial electrical systems, fabrication, and plumbing/water systems (Required)
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical systems, including the ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics (Required)
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) (Required)
  • Flexibility to support off-shift, weekend, or emergency maintenance activities when required (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • TPM certification or formal TPM training (Preferred)
  • Certification in industrial electrical maintenance and/or welding (Preferred)
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial automation systems, and knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on industrial electric motors, motor controls, drives, contactors, relays, and electrical circuits.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, wiring, conduit, and power distribution.
  • Perform basic to intermediate fabrication, welding, and metalworking to support equipment reliability and facility improvements.
  • Install, maintain, and repair facility plumbing, water distribution systems, pumps, and valves.
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, analyze equipment failures, and maintain accurate records within the CMMS system.
  • Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives, participate in root cause analysis (RCA), and collaborate with production teams to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed according to quality and safety standards, including consistently applying Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
