About The Position

The Maintenance Technician 3 – 1st shift in Milwaukee, WI is responsible for independently performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, facilities, and utility systems while adhering to safety protocols and documentation standards. The role requires strong troubleshooting, repair, and organizational skills across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and instrumentation systems, alongside participation in on-call duties and shift work. Additionally, the position involves supporting process improvements, guiding contractors and technicians, and collaborating with engineering during audits and changing management processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • 3 + years of experience in HVAC, electrical/instrumentation, and/or mechanical (i.e., Boiler Operator’s)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and install equipment, facilities, and utility systems.
  • Provide leadership, expertise, and training to other department members.
  • Drive process improvements and leading PDSAs, while consistently accepting direction, meeting tight deadlines, and maintaining high productivity.
  • Use precision measuring equipment, understand materials of construction and chemical compatibility.
  • Proficient in industrial electricity concepts—including Ohm's law, AC/DC currents, and parallel/series circuits—with a strong foundation in electrical safety (grounding, arc flash) and the capability to install and repair lighting systems.
  • Responsible for electrical installation and metal fabrication, including sizing, threading, and bending conduit per NEC standards; soldering and brazing; utilizing building management systems; and operating machining tools (lathe, mill) alongside advanced welding techniques (Arc, TIG, MIG).
  • Use basic software (windows, word, Excel, email) and CMMS software to enter purchase requisitions in SAP.
  • Responsible for diagnosing steam trap problems, operating and maintaining high-purity water equipment, inspecting and repairing glass-lined process machinery, and executing visual and thickness testing to install, repair, or modify all types of piping systems.
