The Maintenance Technician II performs skilled work related to the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of mechanical, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and structural systems. They monitor machine performance, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot problems, and make necessary adjustments. This role involves understanding and following all safety rules and precautions necessary for working with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical apparatus, dealing with complex factors, and making decisions based on conclusions and findings. The technician will install and repair various electrical equipment, use different welding equipment, utilize electricians’ hand tools and measuring/testing equipment, diagnose and correct trouble in electrical systems, perform visual and mechanical inspections to ensure product quality, follow a preventive maintenance program, perform minor and major building repairs, notify management of needed repairs, provide on-the-job direction to new mechanics, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Additional projects or duties may be assigned.
