About The Position

The Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and facilities to ensure the continuation of production processes. This role involves completing hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic repairs, assembling, building, and moving production equipment, and dismantling and reassembling equipment to ensure efficient operation with minimal supervision. The technician will also complete PM reports, fill out MWRs for larger issues, and perform daily, weekly, monthly, and scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance. Fabrication of parts, participation in Continuous Improvement initiatives, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting in troubleshooting are also key aspects of the role. The position requires forklift, crane, and man lift certification, and the ability to communicate effectively and conduct air quality checks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing facility
  • Basic knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Welding capabilities
  • Ability to perform basic shop math functions
  • Accurately use tape measure and precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to operate forklift, hoists, cranes, manlifts, and other powered industrial vehicles as needed
  • Ability to operate various power and hand tools
  • Ability to work with others as part of a high performance team
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
  • Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Completed a formal skilled trades program with training in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or electrical maintenance and repair

Responsibilities

  • Complete hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic repairs
  • Assembling, building and moving of production equipment
  • Dismantle, replace defective parts, reassemble and adjust to ensure efficient operation with minimal supervision
  • Thoroughly complete PM reports and fill out MWR’s for large issues needing more attention
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and scheduled work
  • Fabricate parts/components required to complete any repairs necessary to bring equipment operational
  • Participate and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Maintain clean work service shop area
  • Clean up area following all maintenance services
  • Assist in trouble shooting and root cause analysis
  • Perform tasks with minimum technical guidance
  • Perform detailed repairs to controls and other equipment
  • Communicate relevant information and concerns positively and effectively to others in timely manner
  • Conduct air quality checks
