About The Position

This is a second (2nd) shift position. The Maintenance Tech will maintain all equipment and facilities, perform all scheduled PM checks and procedures, and assist with set up and changeovers. The role requires adherence to all Multimatic New Haven Safety practices, policies & procedures. Responsibilities include machine diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and setup. The technician will also perform welding, fabrication, preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, and all facility-related repairs and project work. Documentation, including daily logs, Control Plans, and Downtime logs, must be completed accurately. Coordination with other resources for time, material, and equipment is necessary. The position requires a self-driven individual with minimal supervision and the ability to acquire all necessary hand tools.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field and/or other related formal course work or equivalent years of experience in this or similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • 1 - 3 years’ experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical & welding
  • Excellent trouble-shooting/problem solving skills & experience
  • Ability to read and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Must have or acquire all hands tools to perform the job
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Machine diagnostics/trouble-shooting & repair
  • Machine installation & set up procedures
  • Perform welding & fabrication as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM’s) procedures related to all manufacturing equipment
  • Perform all facility related repairs and/or project work as assigned
  • Responsible for completing and turning in all maintenance related documentation including but not limited to daily log sheets for TPM’s and all required Control Plans and Downtime logs
  • Coordinate with other resources (Supervisors/Managers) time, material and equipment required to perform necessary work as needed
