About The Position
Cool Creations is a fruit and vegetables production company that offers sliced and diced options in various container sizes. As a sister company within C&C Produce, which has operated the Midwest's Largest Produce Warehouse since 1992, Cool Creations delivers fresh produce to schools, restaurants, grocery stores, distribution centers, and healthcare facilities. The Maintenance Technician is crucial for supporting the daily operations of the facility by performing preventive maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, and completing facility repairs. This role ensures that all machinery, systems, and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a warehouse, food distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems, hydraulics, electrical components, and automation.
- Working knowledge of general maintenance processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to safety, detail, and documentation.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs and perform physical activity including standing, bending, climbing, and kneeling.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Nice To Haves
- Technical certification in HVAC, Building Maintenance Technology, or related field preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on all facility equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation issues.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment, parts, and components as needed.
- Conduct electrical system testing, including continuity and wiring inspections.
- Complete general facility repairs including carpentry, plumbing, welding, fabrication (metal/plastic), and basic construction work.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment as part of daily pre-operation and shutdown procedures.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and work orders to complete maintenance tasks correctly.
- Perform daily pre-operational equipment checks and document findings.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs.
- Follow all C&C Produce safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and facility policies.
- Support emergency maintenance during unplanned equipment failure or facility issues.
