About The Position

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. As we continue to expand our services & locations, our community has grown far beyond Paris. Position Summary: The maintenance technician is required to perform a variety of general maintenance and/or preventative maintenance functions at the direction of the maintenance supervisor or the Facility Manager. The maintenance tech may be required to work off normal shifts, weekends or holidays in order to maintain 24/7 staff coverage.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic working knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC).
  • Plumbing and electrical within the health care environment and various hospital owned business occupancies.
  • Must be able to perform basic computer skills such as but not limited to, time and attendance program; annual on-line mandatory training/education; routine work order system.
  • Must be able to work outdoors under various adverse weather conditions such extreme heat, cold, rain or snowy weather while performing tasks such as shoveling snow; spreading ice-melt products; repair/maintenance of roof top units or exhaust fans.
  • Position requires a valid drivers and clean driving record.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training in a related field(s) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Servicing and repairs to building support equipment such as but not limited to; air handlers; miscellaneous pumps and motors; HVAC filter changes
  • Variety of plumbing repairs such as sinks; toilets; traps; water supply lines
  • Basic electric work such as changing light switches; changing wall receptacles.
  • Changing lighting ballast or LED drivers.
  • Must be able to work from a step ladder while changing ceiling tile etc.
  • Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Must maintain a professional and positive attitude while on duty
  • Must be respectful of patients, visitors and staff at all times.
  • Must be reliable, punctual and dependable
  • Must be able to read and understand various equipment repair manual(s) and follow recommended preventative maintenance service intervals etc.
  • The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital’s goals and objectives.
