About The Position

The Maintenance V role will be responsible for the overall operating performance of a variety of machines within the Assembly and Mill buildings. Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while helping to improve the efficiency of machines by minimizing down time. This position will have a primary focus in West Rutland Assembly with support to the Main Mill and other locations as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training in mechanical, industrial electrical, and hydraulics
  • 4+ years’ experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting
  • PLC desirable, but not required
  • Leadership: a demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and the ability to inspire other team members
  • Communication: excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills to facilitate work through multiple shifts / departments / buildings.
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan accordingly
  • Problem solving: Possess strong analytical skills and mechanical aptitude to help troubleshoot problems and implement improvement plans
  • Ability to build constructive and effective relationships.
  • Ability to take a proactive approach to people, production, and business needs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment that requires fulfillment of daily commitments
  • Possess knowledge of manufacturing, production scheduling, and shop operations.
  • Effectively gather and analyze information to allow for timely/efficient decision making
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Possess computer skills and some proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Conducts machine troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Provides emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Performs mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair on production and packaging machines
  • Installation of new equipment as necessary
  • Reads and interprets work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on equipment, machines, and plant facilities
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and Carris Reels safety program
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Excellent attitude, communication, and team work skills
  • All other duties as required
