About The Position

The 3rd shift Maintenance Tech will participate in the preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities. This role involves identifying equipment maintenance needs, recording mechanical equipment readings, and ensuring the accuracy of records. The technician will perform routine mechanical, electrical, welding, or machining maintenance activities, including lubrication, inspection, and replacement of parts. They will also maintain records of plant function readings, equipment history, and preventative maintenance schedules. The role requires diagnosing, troubleshooting, updating, and repairing malfunctioning plant equipment such as compressors, belt presses, valves, drive units, hydraulic control units, pneumatic equipment, and hydraulic pressure systems. Additionally, the technician will assist crews in diagnosing malfunctions, participate in the installation and modification of plant equipment, and maintain efficient records on operations and activities, including plant safety records and preparing reports. A strong emphasis is placed on adhering to safe work practices and procedures, including lockout/tag out and confined space regulations. The role also involves interpreting drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for wastewater systems, operating heavy equipment like forklifts, and performing building maintenance tasks as needed. Special projects and developing/tracking project lists are also part of the responsibilities. Maintaining a high level of safety and keeping the workstation clean are essential.

Requirements

  • Moderate to heavy lifting: between 10 and 50 lbs. continuously.
  • Perform various job functions throughout the day. (multi-task)
  • Stooping, walking, bending, twisting, standing, sweeping, hand motion, wrist motion, body rotation, counting, reading tape measure.
  • Work in an environment that is often very hot in the summer and cool in the winter.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities.
  • Identify equipment maintenance needs.
  • Record mechanical equipment readings and ensure accuracy of records.
  • Perform routine mechanical, electrical, welding, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, and replacement parts.
  • Order and maintain stock levels of lubricants used in plant equipment.
  • Maintain records of plant function readings and equipment history.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance records and schedules.
  • Conduct performance tests of plant equipment using tachometers, pressure gauges, flowmeter, amp and volt meters.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, update and repair malfunctioning plant equipment including compressors, belt press, valves, drive units, hydraulic control units, pneumatic equipment and hydraulic pressure systems.
  • Assist crews in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Participate in the installation of plant equipment.
  • Participate in making modifications to equipment.
  • Maintain efficient records on operations and activities.
  • Maintain plant safety records.
  • Prepare a variety of reports on data.
  • Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures including but not limited to lockout/tag out and confined space rules and regulations.
  • Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and diagrams for a variety of wastewater systems.
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment including forklifts and others as necessary.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Perform building maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Develop, coordinate and track project list activities.
  • Ensure that a high level of safety is always adhered to on and off the production floor.
  • Maintain workstation clean and free from dirt and debris.
  • Follow Plant specified job specification and task list.
