About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. This includes mechanical repairs on conveyor systems and processing equipment, as well as work on pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and utilities such as boilers, air compressors, chilled water systems, and HVAC units. A key aspect of this role is ensuring all repairs adhere to food safety standards, including GMP, HACCP, and sanitary design, and using only food-grade lubricants. The technician will also be involved in continuous improvement efforts, including performing preventive maintenance, calibrations, and root cause analysis to prevent breakdowns and implement long-term solutions. Attendance and punctuality are mandatory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • HVAC, EPA Universal Certification REQUIRED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in residential maintenance or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical repairs on conveyor systems, including adjusting tension and tracking, and replacing worn bearings, belts, drive chains, and gearboxes.
  • Fix processing equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, and fillers by replacing seals, gaskets, valves, and moving components.
  • Repair or replace leaking air lines, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and solenoid valves in pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Service plant lighting, facility wiring, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain boilers, air compressors, chilled water systems, and HVAC units.
  • Ensure all repairs follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and sanitary design standards.
  • Utilize only food-grade lubricants (NSF H1) on machinery to prevent contamination.
  • Secure and seal electrical enclosures and components to withstand high-pressure, chemical washdowns.
  • Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and part replacements as part of the preventive maintenance program.
  • Investigate recurring machinery failures and implement permanent engineering solutions through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
