About The Position

The Maintenance Tech will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of company equipment and facilities. This includes routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative measures, as well as ensuring a safe and clean work environment. The role requires a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and the ability to work with various hand and power tools.

Requirements

High school diploma
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Familiarity with hand and power tools
Good communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Follow all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures such as LOTO, Hearing and Eye Protection.
Safely and effectively operate assorted non-powered and powered hand tools; grinders, drills, drill-press, saws, etc. in accordance with manufacturer and company policies and procedures.
Safely operate and maintain Forklifts, and Manlifts in accordance with manufacturer and company policies and procedures.
Conduct basic maintenance tasks, such as changing filters, replacing belts, and lubricating machinery.
Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines that are not accessible by operators.
Paint machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
Inspect equipment and machinery, gears, pulleys, wheels, chains, journals, sleeves, etc. for wear and tear.
Clean and lubricate machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
Patch or replace plaster or plaster board and paint walls, ceilings, and trim of building.
Clear clogged drains and replace plumbing fixtures.
Maintain a complete inventory of predetermined tools for job accomplishment.
Clean and maintain work area, tools, machinery and equipment.
Perform equipment and facilities preventative maintenance (PM) per schedule.
Maintain, log, PM sheets, Pass-Down sheets and report results to on-coming crew and Supervisor.
Record machine operating parameters using pre-made charts.
Participate in shift/equipment status communication meetings, ensuring on-coming and off going team understand what has occurred and expected for their team.
Assist with bending, cutting, threading pipe, and electrical conduit.
Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Assist with machine or equipment level and alignment inspections at predetermined checkpoints.
Assist with machines or equipment breakdowns, replacing defective mechanical and electrical parts.
Attend training programs, classes, seminars for job skill and knowledge development.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
