About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Maintenance Tech to perform skilled repairs on resort buildings and equipment and maintain them in the best possible condition while minimizing inconvenience to guests. The role responds to maintenance requests and performs preventive repairs to help ensure a seamless guest experience. It is an hourly wage position. The posting describes the role as part of the leadership team and emphasizes guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while providing excellent guest experiences.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience performing general handyman work, such as basic carpentry, minor electrical, HVAC or plumbing work, painting, and furniture repair.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical and HVAC work, and general troubleshooting skills.
A leadership style rooted in collaboration, respect, and service to others.

Nice To Haves

Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field is helpful.
Previous hospitality industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain resort and condominium rooms, including programming televisions; replacing light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures; repairing furniture; performing minor plumbing repairs; repairing water lines; testing, cleaning, and repairing pools and spas; painting designated areas; repairing and finishing sheetrock; repairing wall coverings; and repairing and programming hotel electronic lock systems.
Provide guests with welcoming, responsive, friendly, and courteous service.
Keep equipment clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and adherence to manufacturers’ preventive maintenance programs.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and perform preventive repairs.
