About The Position

This role requires a maintenance technician with basic to experienced level skills in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting within an industrial environment. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and replacing various machinery components. A preventative and proactive mindset is essential, along with the ability to understand machinery operation, maintenance procedures, and PLC-based controls. The work environment involves 12-hour shifts, 4-5 days a week, with a focus on customer service to plant operations. Food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices are critical, and employees must use appropriate safety equipment. Duties may include sitting for prolonged periods, climbing stairs and ladders, and walking extensive distances on plant floors.

Requirements

  • Basic to experienced level of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and/or replace switches, sensors, valves, actuators, conveyor belts, electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, power supplies, etc.
  • Understanding of machinery operation, maintenance procedures, and PLC-based controls.
  • Must have a preventative and proactive mindset.
  • Full range of body movements including the use of hands for handling objects, computer equipment, and peripherals.
  • Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, work at heights, and crouch/kneel.
  • Command of senses: sight, hearing, touch, and smell.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions in English.
  • Pre-employment background/drug screening and e-file background testing are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience using Allen-Bradley PLCs, automation, and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in welding.
  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment such as driers, fluid pumps, conveyors (pneumatic, screw, belt, vibrating), instrumentation (temperature, flow, weights), ovens, motors, fans, extruders, and mill grinders.
  • Experience in food or beverage manufacturing.
  • 1-3 years of Maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and/or replace switches, sensors, valves, actuators, conveyor belts, electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, power supplies, etc.
  • Understand machinery operation, maintenance procedures, and PLC-based controls.
  • Maintain a preventative and proactive mindset.
  • Perform duties in a 12-hour, 4-5 day shift environment with a customer service orientation.
  • Adhere to Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including the use of appropriate safety equipment.
  • Climb stairs, climb ladders, and walk plant floors, potentially exceeding one mile of travel per day.
