About The Position

Ludwig and Company is a highly respected Property management firm doing business throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Our firm’s portfolio includes 70+ multi-family communities representing approximately 7,000+ units. Ludwig and Company is seeking a Maintenance Tech at our 230 Unit community located at Chicago, IL. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established local company.

Requirements

• Boiler License Required
• High school Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Solid knowledge of general maintenance and repairs. Experience in HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, painting, carpentry, dry wall.
• Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Valid Driver License.
• Ability to commute/relocate: Chicago, IL 60637: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Trade school certificate(s) in electrical, plumbing, maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders throughout the community.
• Ensures all make-ready repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Assess and repair issues including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and interiors. Must be able to perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and dry wall repairs and snow removal.
• Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Conduct interior and exterior rounds to ensure proper functioning of systems and equipment, structure integrity of buildings, condition of grounds, etc.
• Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, repairs, work orders, work-in- progress, apartment make-ready status, etc.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
• All other duties as assigned.
• On call rotation required
