Requirements

  • At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use maintenance software, email, and digital documentation tools.
  • Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Strong electrical background, including experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery beyond standard warehouse forklifts.
  • Completion of a two‑year technical degree, ideally paired with industrial maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide repair assessments, service equipment, and ensure all repairs are completed effectively and safely.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC logic, and hardware issues related to machinery and equipment.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on facility and production equipment.
  • Research equipment upgrades and new purchases; prepare proposals, order parts, and develop plans for special maintenance projects.
  • Participate in managing parts inventory, including identifying required parts and supplies.
  • Respond to emergency and unplanned repair needs to support continuous production.
  • Attend required internal and external training to maintain safe maintenance practices and obtain necessary equipment certifications.
