About The Position

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for ensuring that all production equipment and plant utilities are functioning properly. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting repair deficiencies in equipment that affects the production of pressure sensitive labels and coupons, providing mechanical and pneumatic repair services, and assisting with special set-ups. The position also includes coordinating with the process engineer, performing building repairs (heat, light, hot/cold water, and air conditioning), and maintaining the physical structure of the establishment.

Requirements

Minimum experience of 1-2 years.
Safety training certification.
A state driver’s license.
Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical troubleshooting / repair.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and numerical data.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers and employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to apply abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

Diagnose / troubleshoot repair deficiencies involving the equipment affecting the production of pressure sensitive labels and coupons.
Provide mechanical, and pneumatic repair / set-up service in assisting with special set-ups of producing labels and coupons.
Coordinate with requests from process engineer as necessary.
Building repairs - heat, light, hot / cold water and air conditioning.
Dismantle machines or equipment, replace defective parts and motors, and adjust feed mechanisms.
Clean and lubricate machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
Clear clogged drains, and replace plumbing fixtures.
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures and tools.
Performing other work-related duties as assigned.
