About The Position
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment and machinery. This role involves troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment operates at optimal specifications. The position requires a strong understanding of technical manuals, schematics, and various maintenance systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work area and ensuring all equipment is in good working order. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on problem-solving and attention to detail.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Must be able to work 40+ hours per week, occasionally Saturdays, and call ins after scheduled work hours.
- The qualified candidate is required to have their own set of tools necessary to perform the functions of this position.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to use trades math, read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- The ability to use precision measuring instruments and tools.
- Requires the use of considerable judgment to perform difficult maintenance work, diagnose equipment problems and make repairs, modifications, and adjustments.

- Degree or certificate in industrial maintenance a definite plus.
Responsibilities
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools, examining form and function of parts, and looking for defects and irregularities.
- Repairs or replaces broken or malfunctioning components.
- Determines changes in size of worn parts by inspecting them using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments and comparing to specifications.
- Reads technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
- Adjusts and calibrates equipment and machinery to optimal specifications.
- Checks the performance of machinery.
- Maintains work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and good housekeeping manner.
- Performs PLC troubleshooting.
- Installs and runs conduits for 240.
- Repairs and troubleshoots both pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoots all types of electrical panels.
- Changes belts, motors, and conveyors.
- Repairs hydraulic presses and spot welders.
- Works on automation, applying technical fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and a systems-thinking mindset.
- Works with diagrams and schematics, including blueprints.
