About The Position

The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for ensuring that Lynn County Healthcare System facilities are clean and in good operating condition. This is a full-time position with on-call rotations.

Requirements

  • Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.
  • Have the ability to promote a courteous, calm atmosphere.
  • Be able to work cooperatively with other departments and all employees within the system.
  • Show the ability to demonstrate initiative by actively seeking additional duties, as well as accepting, performing and completing all duties as assigned.
  • High School diploma/GED preferred.
  • 2+ years experience preferred
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to and over 100 lbs.
  • Requires bending, stooping, crouching, walking, pushing, pulling, and the ability to climb at least 8 flights of stairs and/or move and climb ladders of varying heights.
  • Senses must be intact or correctable to acceptable levels and be mentally alert.
  • Responsible for abiding by all policies and procedures to include the Code of Ethics and the principles and standards set forth for conducting business and affairs.
  • Responsible for abiding by all policies and procedures relating to HIPAA.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
  • Maintain interior and exterior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct fire drills, test fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems.
  • Perform ground maintenance including removing leaves and debris, mowing, weed eating and edging all facility grounds.
  • Perform renovations as needed.
  • Perform and complete daily work orders as they are received.
  • Comply with all safety and health regulations and LCH policies/procedures.
  • Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.
  • Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
