About The Position

The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for ensuring that Lynn County Healthcare System facilities are clean and in good operating condition. This is a full-time position with on-call rotations.

Requirements

Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.
Have the ability to promote a courteous, calm atmosphere.
Be able to work cooperatively with other departments and all employees within the system.
Show the ability to demonstrate initiative by actively seeking additional duties, as well as accepting, performing and completing all duties as assigned.
High School diploma/GED preferred.
2+ years experience preferred
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.
Must be able to lift up to and over 100 lbs.
Requires bending, stooping, crouching, walking, pushing, pulling, and the ability to climb at least 8 flights of stairs and/or move and climb ladders of varying heights.
Senses must be intact or correctable to acceptable levels and be mentally alert.
Responsible for abiding by all policies and procedures to include the Code of Ethics and the principles and standards set forth for conducting business and affairs.
Responsible for abiding by all policies and procedures relating to HIPAA.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
Maintain interior and exterior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment.
Conduct fire drills, test fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems.
Perform ground maintenance including removing leaves and debris, mowing, weed eating and edging all facility grounds.
Perform renovations as needed.
Perform and complete daily work orders as they are received.
Comply with all safety and health regulations and LCH policies/procedures.
Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.
Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.
Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
