About The Position

The Maintenance Tech will be responsible for responding to service calls, determining and troubleshooting malfunctions, and performing necessary repairs and maintenance. This role involves following departmental procedures, complying with governmental codes, and coordinating with other departments. The position requires a strong understanding of various building systems and the ability to read technical documents.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction
  • Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship in one or more area; state certification or licensure where required
  • Understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.
  • Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings and technical parts breakdown.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing
  • Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
  • Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all service calls within half hour from time call is received.
  • Determine defects, trouble-shoot malfunctions, take immediate necessary corrective action if guest related/top priority or scheduled for completion within 2 days and record same on the departmental work order form.
  • Follow specific departmental procedures in efficiently performing repair, maintenance, alteration and installation work.
  • Comply with the latest local, county, state and federal governmental codes, laws and requirements.
  • Coordinate with other department personnel such as electrician, carpenter, painter and night engineer in completing service, replacement, alteration and new installation work.
