About The Position

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers. This role involves troubleshooting machinery malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic) and performing maintenance on all production supporting equipment such as glycol systems, RO systems, compressed air systems, lubrication systems, and chemical distribution systems. The position requires innovative thinking to minimize production downtime, ensure food safety, product quality, and personnel safety. The role also includes completing and documenting work orders, recording part numbers for inventory, communicating information between shifts, assisting in training other maintenance personnel, and collaborating with production and adjacent teams to resolve issues and drive improvement.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of GMPs.
  • Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
  • Work without supervision.
  • Good decision making/problem solving skills.
  • Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to food quality and food safety standards.
  • Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
  • Perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic).
  • Perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
  • Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
  • Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
  • Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
  • Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
  • Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
  • Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.
