Ezee Fiber is seeking a dedicated and skilled OSP Field Operations Maintenance Tech who will be responsible for performing essential maintenance and repair tasks related to telecom infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on, physically demanding approach and involves working in various weather conditions. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the reliability and functionality of our outside plant facilities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of six (6) months to two (2) years of experience or training in fiber splicing and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and mini excavators.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to produce clear and concise written reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical prints and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications in fiber optics are a plus.
  • Previous experience in telecom or utility construction is highly desirable.
  • Experience with aerial lifts and confined space work is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic and intermediate repairs and maintenance on fiber optic cables, conduits, vaults, pedestals, and other facilities, both aerial and underground.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and mini excavators.
  • Efficiently hand dig and perform other physically demanding tasks.
  • Utilize company vehicles, including trailers and bucket trucks, for field operations.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic activities to resolve issues with telecom infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret technical prints and schematics.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in written reports, providing clear updates on work performed and issues encountered.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including aerial lift and confined space work when required.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
