About The Position

The Maintenance Tech Multi Craft position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment within the Carthage, Missouri Plant. This role requires independent decision-making regarding repairs, parts replacement, and adherence to safety procedures. The position involves working with leaders and partners to ensure food and partner safety, understanding and executing standard operating procedures, and performing checks related to food safety and quality. Accurate data recording on production reports is also a key function.

Requirements

  • Must pass Ramsay Tests: Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Requires advance testing for position.
  • Requires a 2-year commitment.
  • Ability to speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Must have authorization to work in the country where the role is based.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to use computer aided drawing equipment as required to develop electrical sketches and drawings.
  • Moderate skill for programming and troubleshooting PLC’s.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical, electronic (battery powered & manual), and mechanical equipment.
  • Independently determines repair needs, including parts replacement and safety device maintenance.
  • Ensures equipment safety and uses proper safety procedures during troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Works with leaders and partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety.
  • Understands and executes standard operating procedures relative to the position.
  • Performs all required PCP and CCP checks.
  • Follows reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality, and customer requirement outages.
  • Identifies and understands customer requirements and assists in assuring proper operation and product.
  • Records accurate data on production reports.
  • Maintains complete familiarity with electrical and electronic equipment, including electronic/hydraulic scale systems and DC circuits on power equipment.
  • Performs complex piping jobs, such as installing conduit and control wiring.
  • Designs, fabricates, installs, and debugs control panels from verbal instructions, sketches, or blueprints, ensuring compliance with OSHA and NEC specifications.
  • Ensures all electronic equipment is safe to operate and meets OSHA and NEC specifications, including proper guarding, wiring, and safety signs.
  • Rebuilds complex electronic and electrical equipment.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the area of assignment within maintenance departments.
  • Performs major electronic modifications to production and support equipment as required.
  • Reads, comprehends, and follows complex troubleshooting instructions and identifies parts from equipment maintenance manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Performs electrical troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Follows oral and written instructions.
  • Effectively communicates with fellow partners.
  • Uses proper lifting techniques to work in a safe manner.
  • Becomes power equipment (Forklift) certified and maintains current certification.
  • Works overtime as required.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining volt-ohm meter, oscilloscope, chart recorder, and miscellaneous shop & maintenance support equipment.
  • Tests run equipment in all production and production support areas.
  • Uses computer-aided drawing equipment as required to develop electrical sketches and drawings.
  • Develops an excellent working relationship with fellow team members and other plant departments.
  • Safely operates power equipment within a confined cooler, warehouse, or production work environment.
  • Maintains complete familiarity with production support equipment (air compressors, shop equipment, boiler and water treatment) and equipment in all production departments.
  • Fabricates complex pieces (conveyors, equipment parts, etc.) from items, sketches, or blueprints.
  • Performs complex plumbing jobs, such as fabricating sanitary stainless-steel piping, air, oil, water, and steam.
  • Ensures all equipment in the department of assignment is safe, including proper guarding, no pinch points, and no sharp edges.
  • Rebuilds gearboxes, hoists, and other complex equipment.
  • Completes all record-keeping work such as work orders, material requisitions, downtime sheets, parts usage sheets, and miscellaneous logs.
  • Reports and performs necessary maintenance requirements on facilities and equipment.
  • Performs periodic inventory checks on electronic materials.
  • Performs moderate skill programming and troubleshooting of PLCs.
  • Performs electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by TA/TL.
