Requirements

  • Familiarity of CMMS for completion of work orders, maintaining records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
  • Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system drawings, process, and instrument Diagrams (P&ID's), schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical and electronic drawings, schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings and sketches to determine problem and make appropriate repairs.
  • Performs all duties in compliance with plant rules and practices safety, conduct, sanitation, and good housekeeping.
  • Capable to work from ladders, and scaffolding in a safe manner.
  • Capable of operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (fork truck, aerial lift, etc.). Willing to be certified through Bright Farms Training.
  • Work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Experienced in the use of electrical diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, amp clamps and meggers to test electrical circuits and components to locate shorts, faulty connections, defective parts and replaces or repairs to suite.
  • Must be knowledgeable with basic electronic control devices.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years of trade school, or equivalent military/work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, or machine operation
  • Understanding of typical industrial electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage from 24V to 480V.
  • Ability to work any shift, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Climb steps.
  • Lift 50 pounds and maintain balance.
  • Ability to perform duties in extreme varying temperatures.
  • Crawl over, under and into equipment within company LOTO procedures as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Work from ladders and lifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in a technical or industrial field.
  • Food or agriculture industry experience
  • Training in Food Safety and Sanitation
  • Knowledge of common industrial NEC and NFPA codes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Complies with protocols and documentation as related to OSHA and food safety.
  • Provide technical knowledge and service, install, and maintain the electrical/mechanical needs of the plant.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment to keep in good running order.
  • Troubleshoot problems, recommend, and perform mechanical repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations Team to share knowledge and contribute to a Continuous Improvement environment.
  • Protect the company's investment in machinery and equipment by exercising proper care, skill and knowledge in the use of Company investments.
  • Perform automated and non-automated equipment and system repairs (electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
  • Perform required preventative maintenance tasks for automated and non-automated equipment.
  • Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of equipment or systems.
  • Repairs or replaces defective components.
  • Disassembles, replaces, or repairs mechanical and electrical components.
  • Must be competent to make electrical/mechanical diagnostic evaluation and prescribe corrective action.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/mechanical problems in automated and non-automated systems.
  • Installs, calibrates, and repairs process instruments.
  • Participate in efforts to improve existing equipment and systems to reduce safety issues, improve process flow, and reduce downtime.
  • Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical problems are encountered.
  • Assemble and maintain electrical and electronic systems according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Install and maintain electrical control systems and equipment.
  • Maintain electrical, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
  • Analyze and interpret information to resolve operating or design-related problems.
  • Evaluate and utilizeshop electrical drawings for sound electrical troubleshooting practice.
  • Know and understand method and sequence of operations for troubleshooting and testing equipment.
  • Must be able to work overtime, if required.
