About The Position

The Maintenance Lead serves as a key member of the maintenance leadership team, supporting the Maintenance Supervisor in overseeing daily maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on leadership, coordinates maintenance activities, ensures safe and efficient work execution, and helps drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate is an experienced maintenance professional with strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills, leadership experience, and a commitment to developing others while maintaining a safe and productive workplace.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Prior training or technical education in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, mechanical systems, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices and equipment reliability principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting safe work practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading, mentoring, or directing the work of other maintenance employees is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in leading daily maintenance operations and coordinating employee work assignments.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and technical guidance to maintenance technicians.
  • Support employee development through training, mentoring, and performance support.
  • Serve as acting supervisor when needed and help ensure operational continuity.
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities to support production goals and equipment reliability.
  • Oversee troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to established standards.
  • Participate in equipment improvement projects, process enhancements, and reliability initiatives.
  • Schedule, organize, and assign maintenance work orders in partnership with maintenance leadership.
  • Collaborate with operations, supervisors, and department leaders to prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Monitor work order progress and verify timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate materials, parts, and resources required to complete maintenance activities.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the maintenance department.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all company safety policies.
  • Support safety training and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Identify and communicate safety, quality, and production concerns to leadership.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Support initiatives that reduce downtime, improve reliability, and enhance productivity.
  • Foster collaboration between maintenance and operations teams to deliver high-quality service and support.
