About The Position

The Maintenance Tech III is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and maintaining all conveyor systems within the facility. Key duties include leading and auditing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and installing various electrical and control components such as relay logic, ladder diagrams, photo-eyes, and motor starters. This role involves managing work orders, developing training plans for service technicians, and creating emergency repair plans for critical assets. The Maintenance Tech III will also supervise contractors, manage maintenance service requests, maintain lighting systems, and support the operations team with building and equipment repairs. Additional responsibilities include general interior maintenance, special tasks like painting and locksmith work, moving office furniture, and conducting facility inspections to ensure satisfactory client occupancy and operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights and/or holiday
  • 1 year of experience in PC competency to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Promoting and conduct good housekeeping practices
  • Flexibility with work hours and days. (7 days a week operation, including holidays)
  • Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner. Must be highly self-motivated.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be committed to working safely while accomplishing all tasks and promoting a safe work environment at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
  • 5+ years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principles, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industrial electronics
  • 5+ years of experience conducting preventative & procedure-based maintenance
  • 5 + years of experience reading blueprints and schematics
  • 5 + years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs
  • 3+ years of work order management
  • Previous vendor management experience
  • 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance
  • Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions. Low voltage signal tracing and troubleshooting of logical devices.
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical maintenance
  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards, accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems in the building
  • Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
  • Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance and parts used
  • Develop training plans for service technicians
  • Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets
  • Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time
  • Supervises and directs contractors and monitors performance of their assigned responsibilities
  • Performs and/or directs the performance of all maintenance service requests, insuring that work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience.
  • Manages contractors, including selection, scheduling and job assignments, appraisals and recognition.
  • Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
  • Perform general interior maintenance – hang pictures, repair office furniture systems, minor plumbing
  • Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to; painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and general maintenance as assigned
  • Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations
