About The Position

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing advanced mechanical maintenance and repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime through expert troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

Knowledge of extrusion, converting, film/plastics, or packaging equipment
Welding and fabrication experience
Understanding of PLC-related troubleshooting (mechanical support)
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or reliability programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
High school diploma or GED required
5–10 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
Strong understanding of mechanical systems in a production environment
Experience working with CMMS platforms and maintenance tracking
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Ability to prioritize production-critical work under pressure
Effective communication with production and engineering teams
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

Perform advanced mechanical diagnostics and repairs on manufacturing equipment, including: Extrusion and converting machinery, Rollers, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyors, Pneumatic and hydraulic systems, Cutting, winding, laminating, or packaging systems
Respond quickly to unplanned equipment downtime and production-critical breakdowns
Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity
Accurately complete maintenance work orders and document repairs, labor, and parts usage in CMMS systems
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and rebuilds as needed
Support scheduled maintenance activities, shutdowns, and line changeovers
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions and improve equipment performance
