About The Position

We are seeking a Maintenance Tech III - 1st Shift to join our team at our Cayce, SC bakery. As a Maintenance Tech III - 1st Shift, you will be accountable for maintaining and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure reliable operations, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient bakery production. This role plays a key part in maximizing equipment performance while upholding food safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and a minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience in instrumentation, measurement and control systems, electronics, mechanical, and/or electrical maintenance; OR 6 years of related industrial maintenance experience in lieu of a diploma.
  • Experience in at least three of the following areas: refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, or food manufacturing process controls.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple assignments, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to accurately document work within maintenance systems.
  • Ability to meet physical job requirements, including standing, lifting, climbing, and operating maintenance equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting and programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, bakery, or industrial production environments.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic and repair skills.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment to maintain operational reliability.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, equipment overhauls, installations, and fabrication activities to improve equipment performance.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and support rapid restoration of production operations.
  • Operate maintenance tools, lifts, forklifts, and other equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work order documentation within maintenance systems.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external contractors to support uninterrupted production.
