About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing industrial manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations. This role requires deep technical expertise, independent problem-solving, and the ability to mentor junior technicians. With 10+ years of hands-on experience, the Maintenance Technician serves as a key contributor to equipment reliability, preventative maintenance programs, and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of: PLCs and industrial controls (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) Motors, VFDs, sensors, and industrial automation Hydraulics and pneumatics Welding, fabrication, and machine alignment (preferred)
  • Proficiency using CMMS software and maintenance documentation systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues on industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform advanced maintenance on production machinery, conveyors, PLC-controlled systems, motors, drive systems, pumps, compressors, and robotics (where applicable).
  • Minimize equipment downtime by responding promptly to breakdowns and executing effective root-cause solutions.
  • Execute and improve preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs to enhance equipment reliability and lifespan.
  • Analyze recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS systems, including work orders, parts usage, and equipment history.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to support manufacturing goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, startups, and process modifications.
  • Support production changeovers and troubleshoot process-related equipment issues.
  • Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and facility procedures.
  • Conduct work in compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and machine guarding requirements.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and proactively recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior maintenance technicians and apprentices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on specific equipment or systems.
  • Assist with training initiatives related to equipment operation, maintenance best practices, and safety protocols.
  • Assist in managing spare parts inventory and recommend critical spares for reliability.
  • Read, interpret, and update technical schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
