About The Position

Responsible for making general repairs to buildings, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery and equipment. This role involves plumbing, electrical, and general repairs, as well as fabrication maintenance. The technician will cut and join metal parts, weld and cut various materials, and maintain a clean workspace. They will assist skilled workers, obtain a forklift operator's license, and maintain company-provided tools while also furnishing their own. The position requires entering equipment records into a computerized maintenance management system and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School degree and between one and three years of relative work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery.
  • Ability to use and interpret specification and prints.
  • Skills to make electrical, plumbing, and general repairs to buildings, machinery, or equipment under close supervision.
  • Skills needed to do fabrication, maintenance, joining, and cutting of ferrous and nonferrous metal parts and structures using a variety of techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, do basic mathematical calculations, and use a calculator.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to twist, bend, and reach to perform job duties.
  • Detailed and customer oriented.
  • Ability to learn internal Enterprise Resource Planning system.

Responsibilities

  • Makes plumbing, electrical, and general repairs to buildings, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical machinery and equipment.
  • Conducts fabrication maintenance.
  • Cuts and joins metal parts using a variety of techniques.
  • Welds and cuts all types of material using electric arc, oxyacetylene, or other welding techniques in horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Maintains good housekeeping of workspace.
  • Assists skilled workers in one or more trades by performing specific or generally complicated duties.
  • Obtains a forklift operator’s license and safely operates a forklift.
  • Maintains tools provided by the company and furnishes own tools to function properly in this classification.
  • Enters equipment records, data, and notes into computerized maintenance management system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
