The Maintenance Tech I role involves performing basic plant maintenance, repair, and installation tasks. This includes repairing and maintaining machinery, mechanical, and electrical equipment, as well as troubleshooting equipment breakdown problems. Prior to releasing machinery and equipment to manufacturing, the technician will inspect, test, and operate it. Specific duties may include replacing electrical components and motors, installing belts, tightening nuts and bolts, adjusting and aligning rolls and rollers, and replacing defective parts. The role requires the use of various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. The technician must detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to supervision. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing AC and DC motors and controls, and adhering to safety guidelines.
