About The Position

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Maintenance Technician I, Utility Worker- 2nd Shift for our Fullerton, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Must be fluent in English, written and oral.
  • Ability to effectively work AND communicate as part of a cell team
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

  • This position requires anywhere from light to moderate physical activity, such as walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time, as well as some lifting.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED, apprenticeship, or equivalent preferred.
  • Other individual maintenance craft knowledge considered a plus.
  • Electrical controls awareness a plus.

  • Experienced and knowledge in maintaining and repairing injection presses.
  • 3+ years previous manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble machines and take off parts for replacement or repair by using cranes, hoists, chain falls, hand tools, and jacks.
  • Examine or carry out tasks on broken machine parts and identify defective parts or give recommendations to supervisors on repair requirements.
  • Replace, fix, or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications.
  • Put machine parts together after accomplishing maintenance and repair work.
  • Assists other maintenance team members in meeting department requirements while serving as a resource to production, engineering, and other plant personnel.
  • Work independently with little supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Exhibit outstanding ability to learn and comprehend the fundamentals of the functioning machines.
  • Excellent general understanding of hydraulic systems with display of mastery in troubleshooting by utilizing deductive reasoning and schematics
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
