About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with lawn care equipment
• Knowledge of accepted safety practice
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 60 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, and/or shift and continuously perform essential job functions for an 8-hour shift with appropriate breaks
• Must exhibit a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.
• Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of each employee.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with small engine repair
• Knowledge of and ability to speak and/or understand English is very desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide upkeep of lawn at TJC West to include: mowing, edging, fertilizing, seeding, and trimming.
• Assist with maintenance of campus buildings, including, but not limited to, carpentry skills, utilizing power saws and tools, electrical skills, and general maintenance skills
• Perform various repairs and installations of different types of flooring, including but not limited to VCT, vinyl plank, ceramic tile, and carpet
• Perform plumbing maintenance as assigned
• Paint various components on campus as assigned
