About The Position

Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Technician and Foundry Operator. The Maintenance and Foundry Operator will be responsible for maintaining the production equipment, the building, and support equipment in the manufacturing operation so they are available to achieve the production goals and objectives. They will determine causes of breakdown or failure in mechanical equipment and assist with electrical repairs. Provide repairs, adjustments, modifications, and services to all equipment. The successful candidate will work as directed with the Management team and work in any area on-site as directed while adhering to proper safety protocol. This role is located in Kilgore, TX and will be fully on-site.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • A demonstrated safety-oriented background.
  • At least 3 years of foundry related experience
  • At least 3 years of welding experience
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset able to prioritize work based on the schedules, goals and objectives of the organization
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and offer assistance to teammates when necessary
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting PLC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic machine systems is a plus
  • Forklift experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and promote the safety of those working around you; help build a proactive safety culture
  • Identify and correct potential safety hazards in order to prevent injuries
  • Make the equipment available to the production workforce by determining the cause of equipment breakdown or failure and make necessary repairs
  • Analyzing drawings, manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. as required to install, repair, calibrate or otherwise service all types of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic devices and systems
  • Applying preventative methods and routine maintenance to reduce unplanned equipment downtime
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Provide input into the preventive maintenance programs
  • Support management of spare parts inventories
  • Must be able to operate welding and heat torch equipment for foundry tooling repairs
  • Keep the building and support equipment in working order by performing repairs and modifications
  • Coordinate with outside maintenance and repair contractors when necessary to complete work
  • Develop and support maintenance scheduling and planning including Preventative Maintenance efforts
  • Work as a backup foundry operator when needed
