About The Position

Nyco Products is on the hunt for a Maintenance Tech Apprentice who refuses to settle for good enough. The individual that will join our fast paced team has no issues with accuracy and accountability because you hold yourself to high standards and expect the same from others. At Nyco Products, the Maintenance Tech Apprentice is a very important position. Constantly on the move, you’ll be responsible for basic set-up and adjustment of equipment, line changeovers and preventative maintenance of working equipment . If it looks wrong, it probably is. If the product does not match the work order, you’re on the phone. If safety and security are sacrificed, you’re solving the problem. If it’s messy, you have it cleaned up. If it’s not square, it’s not right, and you won’t stop until it is. This position manages light building maintenance as well, taking responsibility for making the workplace organized, clean and attractive. We’re looking for a Maintenance Tech Apprentice who spends each day challenging yourself and others around you. Because at the end of the day, your name is on your work, and you stand behind it because you know you’ve done your best and won’t settle for anything less.

Requirements

Strong mathematical aptitude
Working knowledge of computers including MS Office applications
Some knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices.
Some general experience with working with electricity and electrical devices.
Some experience with industrial/machine shop repair and upkeep.
General knowledge of general building maintenance, such as grounds keeping, paint, etc.

Responsibilities

Responsible for set-up and adjusting of equipment in course of duties, to assure accurate and efficient completion of production.
Trouble shoots inconsistent operation through operational observations.
Basic repairs of components to permit proper function of equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance and lubrication of equipment to assure reliability and extend operational life.
Work with production personnel to demonstrate and instruct on the proper use and operation of equipment.
Perform work assigned in accordance with company production standards and rates.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area as established by plant policy.
Must adhere to all company safety and health policies.
Utilize company equipment with the proper use and care.
Facility maintenance including clean-up, repair, and vendor collaboration for higher level repairs.
This is primarily a first shift position, but the right candidate must have availability to cover second shifts when needed.
