About The Position

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform maintenance, installations, and repairs of equipment and building support systems necessary for the operation of the plant and offices. This role involves working on various maintenance duties including repair, installation, fabrication, adjustment, and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for communicating preventive maintenance checks and departmental inventory control. The position requires diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions related to systems such as cranes/hoists, 3 phase motors, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, HVAC units, pumps, and exhaust fans. You will perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing operations, as well as start-up and shut-down functions on plant equipment. This role also involves responding to emergency calls on a twenty-four-hour basis, resolving safety issues, maintaining departmental documentation, and working safely in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. Adherence to Quality System procedures and collaboration with the EHS Leader for hazardous waste management are also key responsibilities. Other miscellaneous job duties may be assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires broad based knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing acquired through hands on training.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Ability to work individually and part of a team.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Fabrication experience preferred, or similar experience.
  • Technical degree with a minimum of two (2) years work-related experience preferred.
  • Blueprint & schematic knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance, installations, and repairs of equipment and building support systems.
  • Works on job duties and assignments as they relate to maintenance, repair, installing, fabricating, adjusting, troubleshooting, and any other maintenance duties as needed.
  • Responsible for communicating preventive maintenance checks.
  • Responsible to communicate departmental inventory control.
  • Diagnose & resolve equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties related to, but not limited to, cranes/hoists, 3 phase motors, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, HVA units, pumps, exhaust fans, etc.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations.
  • Performs start-up and shut down functions on plant equipment and facilities as required.
  • Responds to emergency calls on a twenty-four-hour basis.
  • Works consistently to resolve sited safety issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining departmental documentation as required.
  • Workings safely at all times in compliance with OSHA safety and EPA regulations.
  • Adheres to all Quality System procedures and work instructions.
  • Works closely with EHS Leader in the handling, labeling, containment and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions, as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
