About The Position

The Maintenance Technician 2 is a critical member of our team who can solve a problem for our residents to keep them happy and satisfied by ensuring requests and repairs are made in a reliable, timely and safe manner. Maintenance Technicians are accountable for identifying and resolving problems, completing service requests, and making repairs in accordance with operating and safety standards. This role will be responsible for bringing our Goldmark vision of creating a better living for our customers and our communities to life at their individual property level. They will focus on delivering exceptional customer service and quality that is the Goldmark differentiator in making our residents feel at home. The Maintenance Technician 2 will take pride in serving others and delivering a caring and professional experience for our residents, our client-owners and our fellow team members.

Requirements

  • A High School degree, GED or equivalent.
  • Equivalent education with one to two years’ related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Business needs and/or state, local and federal laws may dictate required certifications and licensure for a region or specific location.
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle, vehicle insurance and clean driving record for past 3 years.
  • Proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and quality of advanced maintenance skills.
  • Has previous maintenance experience, is a handyman, and knows maintenance repairs.
  • Keeps a high attention to detail.
  • Takes pride in seeing a job through completion.
  • Works with others to train and pass on knowledge.
  • Enjoys interacting with residents while performing maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned Service Requests related to repairs and upkeep of properties. This includes areas of heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, flooring, HVAC, and other general repairs. Recommending replacement or repair, as necessary.
  • Ensure that all work completed is professional and clean after leaving our residents homes.
  • Prepare open apartments for rental within 24 to 72 hours. This may include coordinating the work of other staff or vendors.
  • Participate in ongoing training to build and maintain knowledge and skills to excel in their role as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with residents by addressing and responding to requests, questions, and concerns, making referrals to manager or maintenance team members as appropriate.
  • Complete and document daily building inspections with the focus on proactive maintenance.
  • Ensure the attractive internal and external appearance of all buildings and grounds, which may include removing debris and weeds, and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Participate in ongoing training to build and maintain knowledge and skills to excel in their role as a Maintenance Technician.
