About The Position

The Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in the manufacturing facility. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment through preventative maintenance. The technician will locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices, dismantle machinery, and replace defective parts. They will determine changes in part requirements by using measuring instruments, maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies, and train production workers on routine preventative maintenance. Additionally, the role requires preparing maintenance reports, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, attending meetings and training, assisting with production troubleshooting and process improvements, working independently, and demonstrating effective communication skills. The technician will also serve as a role model for the company's core values.

Requirements

  • Trade school certificate or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or similar filed.
  • 2 years’ experience working as a maintenance technician or equivalent in military experience.
  • Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment.
  • Machining knowledge, lathes, CNC, press brakes.
  • In-depth knowledge of system maintenance.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to use various hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate a Tow Motor, overhead and jib cranes.
  • Ability to write basic written communications.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
  • Skilled in analyzing information and creating reports.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
  • Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventative maintenance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Attend assigned meetings, training sessions, and safety workshops.
  • Assist with production troubleshooting and continuous process improvements.
  • Work independently with minimal supervisor.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication when working with team members and leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational goals.
