About The Position

The Village of Aspen Lake has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Team Member to join their team. This is an unscheduled part-time position located at 9855 McHugh St. Windsor, ON. The hiring rate for this role is $24.96 per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Requirements

  • Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.
  • Handle Resident’s personal items with care and respect.
  • Communicate the nature of mechanical problems and possible solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Be comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
  • Have general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units.
  • Possess the ability to deal with the fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment for the Village.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members.
  • Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team.
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting.
  • An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
