About The Position

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe or electrical systems. This role involves visually inspecting and testing machinery, listening for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions, and discussing machine operation variations to diagnose problems or repair machines. The team member will also dismantle defective machines, install new or repaired parts, and clean and lubricate machinery components. Responsibilities extend to installing and repairing electrical apparatus, laying out and maintaining pipe systems, repairing gauges and valves, and maintaining the physical structure of the establishment. Additionally, the role includes installing, programming, or repairing automated machinery, operating machine tools for fabrication, and using cutting torch or welding equipment. Performing routine maintenance and other assigned duties are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, or two (2) to four (4) years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or members of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Must perform job duties onsite, when necessary, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
  • Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.
  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment.
  • Fabricates and repairs.
  • Performs routine maintenance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
