About The Position

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance request portal, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks, and managing inventory levels. This role involves maintaining vendor relations, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards, and proactively communicating with management. The lead also assists with custodial tasks and participates in special projects. Additionally, all positions are responsible for meeting company standards for work quality and quantity, and adhering to company policies and procedures regarding workplace behavior.

Requirements

  • Basic carpentry skills including framing, sheetrock, and painting.
  • Basic knowledge of welding, plumbing and aptitude for problem solving.
  • Minimum five years of facility maintenance.
  • Three years of previous leadership in a production-oriented facility with a documented success record.
  • Experience and working knowledge of conveyor systems, PLC’s and related software.
  • General knowledge of PC to utilize maintenance request portal, communicate via e-mail and use of word and excel.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, walk, stand, reach above shoulder height, and walk extensively throughout the warehouse.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Required to work in confined areas, narrow aisles, on/around conveyor equipment, use ladders, use scaffolding, used specialized lift equipment, use shop tools (powered and manual devices), work inside and outside of facility including the roof in all weather seasons.
  • Must be able to stand while operating equipment bearing full weight on both feet.
  • May have to work on machines which operate up to 5 racks high.

Responsibilities

  • Works on tasks assigned through the maintenance request portal, email/radio requests, and emergency repairs.
  • Assists with the oversight of the program for repair entry and PM entry, ensuring all requests are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate inventory levels within the department to ensure adequate supplies of materials and devices.
  • Writes purchase orders and orders materials online or directly from vendors.
  • Maintains vendor relations and oversees work performed within the facility and on equipment assets to ensure compliance with manufacturers, ISO, and OSHA specifications.
  • Proactively communicates with all DC Management and TSM’s on safety, special projects, and all related maintenance topics.
  • Assists in the coordination and assignment of tasks for the custodial team to ensure timely removal of trash and cardboard.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
  • Meets company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed.
  • Performs all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior.
