About The Position

The Lead Maintenance technician is responsible for helping train and helping maintenance technicians complete the troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and installation of industrial process machinery. This is a position, which requires proficiency in all industrial maintenance disciplines, troubleshooting, problem solving, logical thinking, safety practices and all forms of communication. The Lead Maintenance Technician must also exhibit a positive attitude and be self- motivated in all aspects of their responsibilities The Lead Maintenance technician will perform all the same essential duties as a maintenance tech, with the added responsibility to ensure that their team is completing all the required and essential duties properly and in a timely manner. The Lead Maintenance will work closely with the Assistant and Chief Engineer in developing the talent of the individuals on their team. This individual will communicate with the production team to ensure all machine issues are being addressed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Training technicians to maintain, repair, and conducts preventative maintenance on material handling and building equipment in safe and efficient manner.
  • Teaching technicians how to utilize established PMs, procedures and repair policies to return equipment to fully operational status.
  • Read and understand technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) to troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment.
  • Work as a team member with operations and other technicians to support the facility in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS, Emaint and Logcheck) to understand workload and record actions (e.g., work orders, inventory usage)
  • Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
  • Support the manufacturing areas with plant focus on minimizing down time, increasing productivity and maintain the overall Logan's Production System as well as company policies/procedures.
  • General understanding and working knowledge of skill areas including electrical, electronics, fabrication, hydraulics, mechanical drives, pneumatics, welding, assembly and conveyor systems.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-skilled environment with maintenance aptitude to learn skilled trades other than area of expertise.
  • Must be willing to expand knowledge base with the use of CBL (Computer Based Learning) programs and hands on experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant and Chief Engineer.
