About The Position

This role involves inspecting public and back-of-house areas to perform repairs, touch-ups, or replacements of various items including light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, and grouting. The job requires the ability to visually inspect and identify items needing repair, and a considerable knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades. Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical experience are frequently utilized. The position also involves using basic hand and power tools, keeping detailed records in English, maintaining an inventory of supplies, and reporting major repairs to management. Any other duties as assigned are also part of the role, with duties subject to change as management deems necessary.

Requirements

• Basic experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry required.
• Any combination of experience, or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must be reliable and responsible.
• Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of facility.
• Skill in the use of related tools.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping and kneeling.
• Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet for extended periods of time, with the ability to reach, often times overhead.
• Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs, occasionally waist high.

• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect public spaces, and back of the house areas to repair, touch up, or replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous repairs.
• Visually inspect and detect items needing repair.
• Perform duties requiring experience in using basic hand and power tools.
• Keep detailed records in English for logs and inspection sheets.
• Maintain inventory of supplies as needed to perform all job functions.
• Report major repairs and items which cannot be repaired to the manager for further action.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens.
