About The Position

The company is seeking a Maintenance Support Associate to perform routine and emergency maintenance on high-speed automated manufacturing and production support equipment. This role involves process improvements, troubleshooting, and new equipment installation, requiring collaboration with operational teams and providing technical support to engineering. Key contributions include coordinating maintenance resources, performing equipment changeovers, assisting operations with line issues, and completing preventive maintenance. The associate will also train and mentor others, monitor production quality, troubleshoot breakdowns, and utilize various resources to resolve equipment issues. This position supports engineering on installations and upgrades, works with Quality and Engineering to document changes, and acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for maintenance on capital equipment projects. The role involves electrical troubleshooting up to 480 VAC, safe use of hand and power tools, inventory management, and documentation in CMMS systems like Maximo. Adherence to GMP, safety procedures (Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Arc Flash), and hazardous waste removal are critical. The associate will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen and Lean activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience with equipment maintenance in an FDA compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Specific work experience required in use of Vision systems.
  • Specific work experience required in electrical troubleshooting of circuits from low level signals up to 480 VAC.
  • Specific work experience required in Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Specific work experience required in making modifications to Ladder Logic.
  • NFPA 70E Arc Flash certification, required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and emergency maintenance on high-speed automated manufacturing and production support equipment.
  • Performs various process improvements of machines and equipment.
  • Participates in troubleshooting, process improvement, and new equipment installation that vary in complexity.
  • Coordinates maintenance resources in support of operational priorities, partnering with Supervisors, Team Leads, and Manufacturing Leads.
  • Performs routine changeovers including, but not limited to, lot changes, end of arm tooling changes, and mold changes.
  • Perform proper startup and shutdown procedures on equipment and verification of equipment status.
  • Assist operations team with routine line issues, resets, and restarts.
  • Completes required preventive maintenance at defined intervals and revises intervals/scope when necessary.
  • Trains and mentors other associates within maintenance and operations.
  • Monitor output quality and quantity; troubleshoot as needed to make necessary machine and parameter adjustments; and alleviate jams.
  • Troubleshoots major equipment breakdowns and performs mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.
  • Utilize troubleshooting guides, manuals, standard operating procedures, and work order logs to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Provides technical support to engineering team on equipment installations and upgrades.
  • Supports and assists other technicians with troubleshooting, conducting preventative maintenance (PM), and repairs to equipment.
  • Works with Quality and Engineering to document repairs/changes made to equipment.
  • Supports capital equipment projects as the subject matter expert (SME) for maintenance.
  • Performs troubleshooting and maintenance on electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
  • Works with hand tools and/or power tools while troubleshooting, conducting preventative maintenance (PM), or repairing equipment, demonstrating safe techniques.
  • Uses inventory management systems to obtain replacement parts and identifies/rectifies inventory discrepancies.
  • Document all troubleshooting and maintenance activities in appropriate Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Completes production records/forms recording relevant data onto forms or via electronic data entry in Maximo or other systems, ensuring accuracy and good documentation practices.
  • Maintain clean tooling for extruders, injection molding equipment, assembly equipment, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, inspects, and monitors production and/or facility related equipment and machinery.
  • Supports validations from a mechanical perspective.
  • Complies with safety systems and procedures such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out, NFPA-70 E Arc Flash, spills, and machine guarding.
  • Responsible for hazardous waste removal.
  • Participates in Kaizen and Lean activities to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company.
