About The Position

Improves Maintenance Team productivity and quality through hands-on Supervisory direction of Maintenance Technicians. Works with the Maintenance Manager to collaborate with MRO (Parts and Supply) team for repairs and replacements of Plant assets, including Facility systems, equipment, and production equipment. This person is reliability-minded in the commissioning, maintaining, and repairing of Plant assets, helps drive Best Practices maintenance approaches, and is familiar with or has been exposed to continuous improvement and 5S and Root Cause Analyst programs and policies. Promotes strong team cohesiveness, and a collaborative mindset within, and outside, the department, and able to help build and apply Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques and processes. This position is a working Supervisor position, meaning they are not only responsible for overseeing the duties of their team, but will be required to work alongside their team, as needed, to maintain and repair equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity, or equivalent.
  • One (1) or more years related experience and/or training in supervisory roles.
  • Ability to read and interpret in the English language documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
  • Mandatory ability to speak, understand, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry.
  • The ability to learn, and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are, or will, be made available.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic hydraulics/pneumatics and ammonia/refrigeration experience preferred.
  • Food or Medical plant experience is preferred, as well as knowledge of, and compliance with, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food manufacturing best practices.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Can read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
  • Provides emergency repairs on production equipment to keep lines operational.
  • Able to direct and assist with all repairs including the ammonia system.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of production equipment including replacement of failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, power/control lines, etc.
  • Able to diagnose problems and failures, and repair or replace parts as required.
  • Able to coach and perform RCA with their group on repeating issues.
  • Able to coach and assess Teams skills, and ensure all training is completed on time.
  • Works daily with CMMS (L2L) and the planner, to ensure Work Orders are completed as scheduled.
  • Dismantles/disassembles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, using specifications and/or blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Able to collaborate well with production line workers and supervisors, with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Proper radio etiquette always maintained.
  • Ability to adjust various types of devices and control systems. VFD’s, programs, HMI’s.
  • Hands on knowledge trouble shooting and repairing electrical systems, including 480v and below, and control voltage/systems.
  • Understands facilities, systems, and component functions and relationships, and is competent in their troubleshooting and repair.
  • Establishes and ensures that safety policies and procedures are always followed.
