About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of technically skilled employees responsible for equipment availability and performance. This role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of electro-mechanical, robotic, and pneumatic manufacturing equipment. The supervisor will develop and maintain maintenance schedules for all tools, machinery, and equipment used in the manufacturing facility. Supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing include 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, line improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures. The position requires managing workload with a positive attitude as a hands-on team player in a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or significant experience in a related/similar field.
  • Must be able to motivate/lead others, deal with ambiguity, have a results-driven mind-set, good decision-making skills, and excellent communication skills.
  • 5 years job related experience in a food safety manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establish and achieve goals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong preventive maintenance development experience, based on TPM principles a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a constant safety environment and provide necessary training updates while striving for zero incidents and full compliance with OSHA and plant standards.
  • Provide effective supervision, training and coaching to assigned maintenance employees to achieve the required equipment up time, equipment repairs, and production goals.
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering/maintenance procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality.
  • Monitor to ensure the maintenance employees assigned to you comply with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs.
  • Work with employees to resolve technical and machine problems.
  • Schedule, monitor and track preventive maintenance to effectively meet production needs.
  • Ensure accurate spare parts inventory and on-site availability to support equipment repairs and upgrades.
  • Provides and plans technical training.
  • Assist Operation efforts to continually improve OEE and Spoilage results.
  • Enforce safe work practices.
  • Participates in the department strategic planning process and ensures appropriate skills are available when needed.
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the plant, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.
  • Member of HARA team.
  • Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
