About The Position

Safely perform and/or coordinate scheduled and unscheduled equipment and building maintenance, including the troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and installation of equipment. This role involves the training and supervision of Maintenance Technicians, ownership of the Preventive Maintenance Process and associated performance metrics, and participation as a member of the Safety Committee. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training.
  • 3-5 years prior essential duty related experience, preferably in a metal stamping and welding environment.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and operate a predictive and preventive maintenance program for the facility, grounds, and all plant equipment.
  • Perform and/or coordinate actual maintenance/repairs for various equipment including Automatic Minster Press-lines, Manual Presses, Robotic Welders and Machines, Resistance Welders, Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanically driven equipment.
  • Manage contracted services for Forklifts, Multiple Overhead Cranes, Multiple Air Compressors, AC/Heating Units/Systems, Alarm Systems, and Garage doors.
  • Maintain facility infrastructure, including floor repairs, structural repair of pillars, guards, ramps, plumbing, and the underground sprinkler system.
  • Responsible for the re-application of all safety labels/markings, including equipment identification, confined space identification, plant floor-lines, emergency exit signs, SDS labels and containers, and managing associated inventory.
  • Responsible for managing lock-out/tag-out procedures, including maintaining a list of employees and associated issued locks/keys.
  • Responsible for training and conducting performance assessments of personnel for the safe operating of forklifts, scissor-lifts, and overhead cranes.
