How the Role fits In: Directly supervise and provide technical support to assigned employees in the planning, scheduling and execution of all routine maintenance and repair, special maintenance, plant projects, and capital projects within the assigned plant area to facilitate efficient plant maintenance through predetermination of manpower, time, tools, equipment, and materials

Requirements

  • Preferred training and experience for the incumbent includes 2 years formal training in a mechanical discipline such as industrial maintenance, millwright technology, or mechanical equipment repair.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the installation, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of rotating and stationary industrial equipment including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and other mechanical systems.
  • 2 years of direct supervisory experience and demonstrated proficiency in industrial safety practices, mechanical equipment repair, work process planning and scheduling, equipment alignment and installation, reading mechanical drawings and piping layouts and effective personnel supervision and leadership.
  • The use of the following office equipment will be required: Personal computer, calculator, multi-line telephone, copier, printer, scanner, and fax machine
  • The use of the following software could be required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Visio, Adobe (PDF), Share Point, SAP, Microsoft Project and other site approved digital communication and maintenance platform.
  • The use of the following site systems could be required: PI Data Historian, COA Database, Training Mine, Alfresco Document Management, Esker and other plant specific maintenance and documentation systems.
  • Ability to operate and supervise the safe use of mechanical equipment including, but not limited to : drill press, hydraulic press, balance machine, lapping machine, burning torch, vibration meter, overhead crane, dial callipers, miter/marvel saw, bandsaw/hacksaw, drill motors, pipe threading machine, reamers, bearing heater, inside/outside micrometres, timing light, pressure gauges, jig saw, sabre saw, general small hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.), hand pressure pumps, torque wrench, bench grinder, bead blaster, pressure gauge, step ladder, extension ladder, tap & die set, jigsaw, hand & hydraulic knockout sets, hole saw, grinder, porta bandsaw/hacksaw, rotary hammers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures.
  • Understand and promote the INEOS “20 Principles of Safety”, assuring that personnel are aware of safe working practices and promote the safety concepts of “Coaching for Safety” and “Stop Work”.
  • Promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives.
  • Ensure completion of own and direct subordinate training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule.
  • Implement and abide by INEOS Phenol safety policies and procedures for supervised employees and indirectly assure contract manpower meet company and government agency safety requirements.
  • Provide for special safety precautions when scheduling x-ray and other radiation equipment work through coordination with the production supervision and maintenance group.
  • Develop and maintain procedures as needed to comply with facility maintenance, ISO 9000, and process safety management requirements.
  • Maintain department within budget within area of responsibility.
  • Implement and plan for employee training in job-related tasks to the extent that operational efficiency is maintained and improved.
  • Directly supervise and provide technical support for multi-function maintenance crew within area of responsibility.
  • Determine job sequence and priority through coordination with production, maintenance supervisors, and planner/schedulers.
  • Determine accurate requirements for and schedule all material (including common tools and erection equipment) and manpower for high priority work orders to achieve cost effective and timely maintenance work.
  • Coordinate maintenance in the production unit area with production personnel and personnel within the Engineering Department.
  • Organize, formulate and prepare work schedules to limit unit shutdown requirements.
  • Coordinate contract maintenance to accomplish the assigned work within established time frames and contract agreements.
  • Provide Production and Engineering with accurate labor and material estimates through use of established time standards and job knowledge.
  • Update and review computer data within the CMMS system on a daily basis to ensure accurate work order management and backlog information.
