National Grid is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor. This position will sit in our Hicksville Location but will travel to our various plant sites across Long Island.Job Purpose The duties of Maintenance Supervisor include planning, execution, and follow through of all work associated with Generation facilities assigned to the MSD organization. This discipline combines two roles in one. The first role is that of a planner who, through their technical expertise, plans the workflow process during turbine or generator overhauls. The second role is to provide matrixed direct field supervision and expertise to the MSD foreman to implement the plan during the overhaulperiod. During periods of non-overhaul, the Maintenance Supervisors are assigned responsibilities for project planning within the upcoming overhaul period, including capital projects and non-overhaul work assigned to MSD. The Maintenance Supervisors are assigned responsibilities for completing turbine and generator overhauls, safely, on time, and within budget. This position reports directly to the site Outage Manager. Requires significant field presence at assigned power plant locations to complete all responsibilities. Specific areas of focus include the planning phase, execution phase, initial in-service period, and the post outage report / recommendations phase for all turbine and generator overhauls. The Maintenance Supervisor will, working as a turbine and generator specialist, develop a steam or gas turbine and generator overhaul worklist based upon generating unit operational history, base worklist recommendations, demand maintenance repair requests and OEM technical information literature. This will be accomplished within specific department budget and unit outage schedule. This position will determine labor resource needs and develop a detailed schedule to achieve the completion date of the outage, managing the schedule daily and making the necessary adjustments of site labor.
